Philosophy

Langguth Villa in Traben-Trarbach an der Mosel

Wine producers and trading partners from all over the world are united by the desire to satisfy customers and thereby achieve long-term success. Developing a brand within a globalized, constantly changing world, challenges us every day. As the head of the 7th generation in the Langguth family, I am well aware of this responsibility.

Partnership

F. W. Langguth Erben presents itself as a traditional and at the same time modern, global partner. National and international trade are part of our daily business. Thanks to the professional support of our national and international sales teams, we are able to successfully introduce new products and acquire new business partners in Germany as well as worldwide.

Partnership means for us that new directions are taken together, the awareness for quality is increased and the tradition of our company is always preserved.

Vision

We love our wines, appreciate our tradition and are enthusiastic about new things.

Our practical experience in winemaking and the deep-rooted quality awareness of a traditional winery have decisively shaped the character of our company. Innovative, sustainable and open to dialogue, we produce wines of outstanding quality for our customers. Our experience from seven generations for wine lovers from all over the world and those who want to become one – that is our passion.

Sustainability

Ecologically compatible – socially just – economically viable – these are the three pillars on which sustainability is based at F. W. Langguth Erben. For our brand wine company, founded in 1789, the production of quality in harmony with nature is a guiding principle at the top of our corporate philosophy. As a winery, we are pioneers in sustainable issues and have been recognized as “sustainable” in terms of ecological compatibility, social justice and economic viability.

Our uncompromising quality work can be tracked by numerous certifications such as ISO 9001, IFS or BRC. Together with the Efficiency Network Rhineland-Palatinate, we have identified potential savings in the areas of energy, water, materials, emissions and waste and are implementing these in our company.

Sustainable branded wine concepts have enriched our portfolio for several years. With the SONTINO® BioVegan and THE FLOWER POT® brands, we combine sustainability and wine enjoyment.

OrganicVegan and Fairtrade

Organic wine and organic-vegan wine are not just a trend for us, but part of our philosophy.

Today, our company can offer a portfolio of wine brands that guarantees controlled quality and constant enjoyment. Among them are wines that bear the BIO seal, are certified as vegan by the EUROPEAN VEGETARIAN UNION, or come from Fairtrade-certified wineries in South Africa and carry the Fairtrade seal. We are very proud of this.

Social Commitment

In 1976, the long-time managing director Johann Wolfgang Langguth established a foundation and made part of his assets available for this purpose. Since then, the Johann Wolfgang Langguth Foundation has been able to use its funds for many different projects. These include aid for handicapped children, promotion of young talent, research and development in winemaking, art, nature conservation and landscape preservation, as well as the protection of historical monuments. In the spirit of the founder of the foundation and honorary citizen, some projects around the hometown Traben-Trarbach are also supported sustainably.

Quality Management

Quality is not a matter of chance and certainly not in wine. Intelligence, passion and the experience of many generations are required to prepare the best possible wines in harmony with nature.

Quality is our guiding principle and the challenge we face every day as a wine house – always with the aim of being among the best. Our in-depth know-how and our specially trained professionals ensure the highest quality every day.

The technical facilities at our headquarters in Traben-Trarbach are efficient, modern and also traditional. They ensure our high quality standard and give us fascinating possibilities to improve the vinification of our wines to perfection.

Numerous certifications according to national and international standards, among others the organic certification by the Lacon Institute as well as according to the International Food Standard (IFS) and the British Retail Consortium (BRC), provide security. We ensure complete traceability of the wine back to the winemaker, as well as of all processed materials back to the producer.
